Fire Safety Support

Practical support to help your premises team organise fire safety actions, keep records together and coordinate the next steps.

A service shaped around you

Fire Safety Support, with your priorities in mind.

Fire safety involves people, premises and ongoing attention. Our support service focuses on helping your team bring existing information together, coordinate agreed activities and keep track of actions.

Who it’s for

Businesses, property managers and facilities teams looking for practical coordination alongside their existing fire safety arrangements. We will review the premises, your requirements and available delivery options before agreeing any work.

The scope of your service

What your service can include

The following areas form our proposed scope. Availability, responsibilities and any specialist involvement will be confirmed before a service begins. Select an area below to explore what can be included.

Clear coordination alongside your existing fire safety arrangements.

Information brought together

Help organise existing assessments, service records and action lists so your team has a clearer view of the information already available. The proposed scope identifies what information will be used and where further specialist input may be needed.

Visit coordination

Support access arrangements and scheduling for agreed fire safety activities, working around the people who use your premises. Access, named contacts and the intended activities are agreed with your team, subject to confirmed delivery arrangements.

Action tracking

Maintain an agreed record of actions, named owners and target dates, with outstanding items brought back to your team for attention. Ownership and reporting routes are established so outstanding items remain visible to the people responsible for taking them forward.

Specialist requirements

Identify where your request needs a separate specialist scope. Assessments, equipment servicing, remedial work and training must be agreed specifically. Required competence, availability and responsibilities are confirmed before any specialist activity is accepted or arranged.

Communication and handover

Define your points of contact, reporting arrangements and the records needed after agreed activities. This coordination service supports your existing arrangements; specialist work and statutory responsibilities remain separately defined.

Discuss your requirements

A clear plan. Accountable delivery.

Understand your premises

Tell us how the building is used, who manages it and what support you need with your current arrangements. This gives the discussion a practical starting point, focused on the priorities that matter to your organisation.

Define the responsibilities

Agree the proposed scope, your points of contact and any specialist work that needs separate confirmation. The proposed specification makes responsibilities and exclusions clear, with any additional requirements confirmed separately.

Keep the next steps clear

Set out communication, records and follow-up arrangements, with delivery subject to confirmed availability. Communication and next steps are agreed with your nominated contact, providing clarity around the proposed arrangement.

Is this service available now?

Fire Safety Support is available by arrangement. Contact us to discuss your requirements; we confirm the scope, responsibilities and competent delivery arrangements when quoting.

Does this include a fire risk assessment or equipment servicing?

These are not automatically included in the coordination service described here. Any assessment, alarm or extinguisher servicing, remedial work or training would need a separately agreed scope and appropriately competent delivery.

Does using support transfer our fire safety responsibilities?

No. Practical support does not transfer the legal duties of the responsible person. In England and Wales, those duties include assessing risks, maintaining suitable measures and planning for emergencies. Read the government’s workplace fire safety guidance.

What information should we provide initially?

Describe your premises, current arrangements and the coordination support required. Existing records can help define the proposed scope, with specialist requirements identified for separate consideration.

Can support work alongside our existing contractors?

The service can be arranged in the context of your current arrangements. Responsibilities, contacts and authority to coordinate activities would need to be agreed before delivery is confirmed.

How would outstanding actions be communicated?

The proposed arrangement would define the records, named owners and reporting route. Your team retains responsibility for decisions and for arranging any specialist work outside the agreed support scope.
